Human Settlements MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela

Human Settlements MEC, Bonginkosi Madikizela says it is a desperate attempt by the ANC to render the Western Cape ungovernable.

Western Cape Human Settlements MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela has described the recent protests in Khayelitsha and Somerset West as a desperate attempt by the ANC to render the Western Cape ungovernable.

He says the ANC is 'desperate' to win the elections and is using tactics to taint the Western Cape government.

Protestors in Khayelitsha are complaining about high water bills, but Madikizela says a meeting with the community to deal with the issues was cancelled.

He says this indicates the concerns expressed were not genuine.

This is an old trick, we see this before each and every election. It is a desperate attempt by the ANC which will again fail.

Bonginkosi Madikizela, Human Settlements MEC - W Cape Government

Can they really claim that they are helping the same people that they are affecting by these nonsensical protests, which is not a service delivery protest, but a service disruption protest?

Bonginkosi Madikizela, Human Settlements MEC - WC Government

Madikizela has called on the community to reschedule the cancelled meeting so as to address the concerns.

Those people who are breaking the law, the law has to take its course.
