Johannesburg most dangerous metro in Gauteng, but murder rate is lower than CT

Robbery is the most prevalent crime in greater Johannesburg.

The State of Urban Safety in South Africa Report 2018/2019 also says Johannesburg is the most dangerous metro in Gauteng.

Ray White speaks to Siphelele Ngobese, a researcher at Inclusion and Wellbeing at SA Cities about the report.

We are finding that cities, in general, carry a bigger share for certain violent crimes. Cities continue to be overburdened in violent crimes.
