Callers say Magashule's actions 'despicable' and 'chronic case of buying votes'

African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Ace Magashule has come under fire for his 'donation' to a Philippi resident in the Western Cape.

Magashule was recorded opening the potential voter's fridge, whom he had visited during a door-to-door campaign, and then giving her R400.

Magashule could be fined or face jail time should he be found guilty of flouting the Electoral Code of Conduct.

Callers on the open line condemned his actions.

What Magashule did was the lowest form of infiltration and abuse of a poor person.

One caller named Doctor says what Magashule did is morally wrong.

Brian also agreed with Doctor's views and says Magashule did this deliberately.

This issue of Magashule giving that woman R400 is unacceptable. I think he did that on purpose knowing that the ANC can't touch him because he seems to be in charge of the ANC.

On the other hand, Neil says when he watched the video of Magashule it felt like he was watching the trailer of Despicable Me 3.

It is the lowest form of electioneering I have ever seen. It is a chronic case of buying votes.
