Sam Smith cancels remaining Cape Town concerts

British singer, Sam Smith's fans in Cape Town where left disappointed after his concert was cut short due to voice strain.

After only 45 minutes of performance, the 26-year-old abruptly left the stage and later announced that he was unable to continue with the concert.

Earlier on Wednesday, Big Concerts announced it hoped Smith would perform at the remaining two concerts but have now released a statement that the both events are cancelled.

Big Concerts regrets to announce that the remaining Sam Smith shows on 17th and 18th April at the Grand Arena, GrandWest have been cancelled.

This difficult decision was made after Sam sought advice from medical specialists and his team, and after having to cut his show short last night with concerns for his voice.

Sam is deeply upset that he is unable to perform for his fans in Cape Town but needs to rest at this time.

Big Concerts wishes Sam a speedy recovery and hopes to welcome him back to Cape Town in the future.
