The squad was formed by Chulumanco Macingwane who went to Durban watch the SA vs Barbarians game, and it was empty.

So he thought to himself, what a lost opportunity to get people who are not familiar with the sport to come and watch the game.

Lusindiso Dabula, Member - Gwijo Squad

From there, at the stadium he WhatsApped a couple of people and a week later we are in Soweto watching the same SA vs Barbarians game, and there is 35 of us, and we are singing.
