Approval for Inyanda Roodeplaat Wind Farm set aside

BirdLife South Africa has welcomed the decision by the acting environmental affairs minister Lindiwe Zulu to uphold the appeal against the environmental authorisation issued for the controversial Inyanda Roodeplaat Wind Farm in the Groot Winterhoekberg in the Eastern Cape.

The proposed wind farm would be constructed in an almost pristine environment surrounded by protected areas.

We will argue that further review is not needed.
