#WorldBookDay: Kidz2Kidz helps children discover the pleasure of reading

Kidz2Kidz says a recently launched literacy project aims to encourage the joy of reading from an early age by creating safe spaces for children.

The organisation provides teachers with training and helps empower learners through its 'Storyweavers – a literacy project with a difference' initiative.

Kidz2Kidz founder Dee Boehner shares some of the work the organisation has done so far. She says the project has already been implemented throughout three provinces.

We have worked with foundation phase classrooms and have over many years established lots of relationships with schools and facilities, many in the Western Cape but also through Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Dee Boehner, Founder - Kidz 2 Kidz

Our results show that we are making a huge impact with the schools that are working with us. We have some testimonials from teachers and principals who have now extended our project into the higher grades.
