Maria Ramos to lead Eskom unbundling. Or not. But definitely maybe

Maria Ramos, the former Absa CEO, is in the running to lead the unbundling of Eskom as “Chief Reorganisation Officer” (CRO), according to a Sunday Times report.

Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan, however, says he is not aware that Ramos is a possible candidate for the post.

White asked Theobald about the rumours and Ramos’ track record.

Listen to the interview in the audio below (and scroll down for quotes from it).

Stuart Theobald, Chairperson - Intellidex

Stuart Theobald, Chairperson - Intellidex

It [Eskom] is a very inefficiently run operation at the moment…

Stuart Theobald, Chairperson - Intellidex

Transnet had a serious balance sheet hole… Maria took over that responsibility…

Stuart Theobald, Chairperson - Intellidex

I don’t think there’s any single individual in the country more qualified…
