Oops... City of Cape Town won't accept dash cam footage

The City of Cape Town does not have a service where residents can submit dash cam evidence.

This is despite Johannesburg Metro launching a service for motorists to submit such footage via WhatsApp.

Speaking to John Maytham, JP Smith, the mayoral committee member for safety and security for the City of Cape Town says the city has discussed the matter of dash cams with the National Prosecuting Authority already.

The city cannot take third-party evidence for instance submitted via WhatsApp.
