Help get this talented young Cape Town dancer to NYU

19-year-old Seth Cloete from Cape Town has been accepted into the New York University's Tisch School of Arts and wants to make his dream of studying at this prestigious institution come true.

I am so lucky to have the parents I do have. They have been so supportive to me on this journey.

He says he did not grow up in a big house with a fancy car. His parents rather prioritsed making sure he received a good education.

Because of that, I went to really good schools, got amazing scholarships, and just worked really hard.

He says he seized the opportunity to apply to the NYU theatre and dance programme with both hands - and it has been hard work.

We didn't have WiFi so we had to go to the library to apply.

He says this has just made him stronger.

I am so lucky I do have a talent and I can throw myself into that.

Seth Cloete, dancer

He knew from a young age that he had a love for dance and acting.

I want to inspire young people to be themselves and achieve their dreams regardless of where they come from.

Seth is from an underprivileged family and overseas study is expensive. The university tuition is $30 000 and residence costs $10 000.

He says he was apprehensive to set up a crowdfunding page but has had so much love and support.

A BackaBuddy campaign has been set up to help Seth reach his goal.
