Rock your slippers on Friday for a good cause

Slipper day is back.

This year’s Slipper Day will take place on May 10.

Slipper Day is an annual Reach for a Dream initiative to raise awareness and funds for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Azania Mosaka spoke to Reach for a Dream board member Dr Craig Nossel and Musa Motha, who is a recipient of the initiative.

We provide hope for children who often feel hopeless.

Motha says he doesn't want pity when he steps on stage.

Every time I step on stage I make sure I touch lives. When I step on stage I'm not just dancing, I'm sending a strong message that nothing is impossible.

To take part on this day, all you need is a wristband that costs R10 which allows you to wear your favourite slippers to work, school, university, gym, shops or even just at home.

A wristband can be purchased from any Reach for a Dream branch, including Pick n Pay, Dischem and Wimpy.
