South Africans stressed out ahead of elections - survey

South Africans have indicated that many of them are experiencing some stress ahead of the 2019 national elections.

Pharma Dynamics revealed the findings of a survey that polled 1,900 people from across the country which illustrates how citizens are stressed out about the upcoming vote.

Pharma Dynamics spokesperson Nicole Jennings says the strain that politics has placed on the mental state of South Africans has led to “politically related” insomnia in some.

Seventy-five percent said they regarded the future of the country as a significant source of stress, 66% said they are stressed about the current political situation, 30% are showing stress when it comes to the upcoming elections and a further 40% say they suffer from politically related insomnia.
