General Kamoli blamed for Lesotho's unrest and the fleeing of political leaders

Thesele Maseribane, leader of Basotho National Party and former Prime Minister Tom Thabane, fled the country amidst a dangerous security situation in Lesotho.

Maseribane says Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa should have acted on their call when they warned him of security crisis in their country.

702’s John Robbie spoke to Thesele Maseribane, Leader of the Basotho National Party to tell us more about the security situation in Lesotho.

Lesotho has a problem of security. It started before we went for the election that has given the outcome of the new government that we have, which is the second coalition of Lesotho

Thesele Maseribane, BNP leader

According to Maseribane, the Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa did a good job with addressing political issues, but it seems he is facing difficulties in addressing the security issues in Lesotho.

Maseribane says on June 25, Brigadier Maaparankoe Mahao was gunned down as a result of General Kamoli’s orders. He says mass protests are being organised to oppose Kamoli’s actions and to get him arrested.
