As the 2019 elections draw to a close, 702's Joanne Joseph reflects on various aspects of this vote, including the mechanics of it, the personalities, as well as the parties that partook in what is said to be the most contested election.
In one instalment of the podcast series #RoadToElections, Joseph chats to chair of the department of political sciences at Unisa Prof Kealeboga Maphunye to explore the electorate and their voting patterns.
We have had a fairly consistent increase in the number of new voters. They might be registered but the key issue is, will they eventually mark the ballot box. The idea is not just to get them to register but to vote.
