Brutal murder of Cape surfer leaves coastal community in shock

Big wave surfer Frank Solomon says the surfing community is reeling with shock after the murder of a 38-year-old Scarborough man in Cape Town.

The man was hijacked as he returned to his car after a surf at Witsand last Wednesday.

It has been reported that his attackers forced him into the boot of his car and later set it alight near Ocean View on Slagkop road.

Ocean View police detectives over the weekend arrested a suspect.

Solomon says he hopes the new premier will do his best to try and make the Western Cape a safer province.
