Western Cape premier-elect Alan Winde has hit the ground running. He is already getting his ducks in a row in deciding who will form part of his Cabinet.
Winde says he held a meeting with DA provincial leader Bonginkosi Madikizela to begin these discussions.

It's all about making sure we have the Cabinet together, a Parliamentary team, chief whips, and their chairpersons and it's also about the premier's office and making sure we deliver because we went out on a campaign trail and said we want to make the province safer and fix the trains.

This means the team that we put together will be working with the national government to convince them of things that have to change.

Of course, our constitutional mandate is growing the economic infrastructure for education, health, and other portfolios.

Winde says he is hoping to announce his team on 24 May, two days after members of the legislature are sworn in.
He will be looking into reducing the red tape as well as legislation in order to make life easier for business and grow the economy.
