A truck driver was killed on the N1 near De Doorns in the Western Cape on Sunday morning. A rock was thrown through the driver's windshield and the vehicle swerve off the road and crash before goods were looted.
Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says the truck was looted of every single item within 45 minutes. Two more trucks have been stoned, he adds.
45 minutes after the incident happened, the truck was empty...It was apparently a truck full of clothing meant for Cape Town.— Kenny Africa, Traffic chief - Western Cape
The traffic department is working in conjunction with the Saps to increase patrols, safeguard the area and protect the truckers.
We will definitely join hands with the South African Police Services.— Kenny Africa, Traffic chief - Western Cape
