Lesufi says from 8am on Monday morning all parents of grade 1 and 8 pupils will be given an equal opportunity to apply for the 2020 academic year.

The MEC chats to 702 Bongani Bingwa about the online system.

We postponed these applications to make adjustments, and I think those adjustments are the ones that are making things difficult for the parents who are struggling with the system.

Panyaza Lesufi, Gauteng Education MEC

We are working around the clock to monitor the systems, and we will try to fix problems as quickly as possible. We are standing at 56 000 successful applications, and we intend to reach the 100 000 mark, just before 10 am this morning.

Panyaza Lesufi, Gauteng Education MEC

Lesufi says if the system logs parents out, they need to keep trying and log back on.

Parents need to choose five schools so that we can be able to place their children if the school of choice is full.
