In 2017 there was a major recall by Ford of over 4 500 Kugas in South Africa following several reports of vehicles bursting into flames.

The purpose of the inquest is to determine whether or not the evidence the family say there is can be used in a court of law.

The inquest will not determine guilt or innocence but rather will decide if there is sufficient evidence for a prosecution.
