[WATCH] 'Fill the gap and sing' ANC MPs urge award-winning singer, EFF MP Ringo

The ANC MPs filled the National Assembly with enthusiastic song during breaks for much of Wednesday's session, but eventually, seem to have become weary.

Waiting for the Speaker of the House secret ballot results to come in, they turned to the award-winning popular singer Ringo Madlingozi, an EFF MP, to give them a song.

MPs can be heard saying "While we're sitting here can Ringo Madlingozi please fill in the gap".

And ANC MP and former chief whip Jackson Mthembu calls out "Cula Ringo cula" meaning sing Ringo.

Watch the video below:

But Ringo was having none of it and sat stoically in his seat, looking somewhat unamused.

It was reported by News24 in the lead up to elections that Madlingozi said on the sidelines at an EFF rally in Soweto: "If I am going there, I'm not going to Parliament to sing and entertain MPs. I'm going there to work for our people and my party,"

Twitter reacted with amusement to the ANC MPs request...
