MyCiTi bus offline at V&A Waterfront 'an isolated incident'

City of Cape Town Transport MEC, Felicity Purchase says once the cause is identified, it will be communicated to the public.

After complaints that MyCiTi Bus at the Waterfront station was offline on Tuesday, Kieno Kammies speaks to Cape Town Transport MEC, Felicity Purchase to find out what went wrong.

It appears that it is only this station at the V&A Waterfront that was down for about an hour. The station operator tells us that they don't know why it was down and they couldn't report it to the Transport Management Centre (TMC) because there was a power outage in Goodwood and the TMC was down so that we couldn't resolve the matter.

We encourage people to have mover points on their my connect cards so that they don't get to a point where they can run out. We learn lessons from this, and we are trying to move to a different card system.
