'Every person has a little bit of kink in them'

What comes to mind when you hear the words BDSM?

Fifty Shades, gaging, punishment, chains and whips maybe?

Some people believe that BDSM is abuse and dehumanising.

BDSM is a variety of erotic practices or roleplaying involving bondage, discipline, dominance and sadomasochism.

Aubrey Masango on the Eusebius McKaiser show spoke to Mistress Salsa who is a Pro dominatrix and Blaxmythos who is a Sub about their roles and some myths involving BDSM.

A dominatrix is a professional dominator — somebody who is into BDSM.

Mistress Salsa, Pro dominatrix

Salsa explains the difference between the dom and the sub.

The dominant is someone who is in charge and enjoys structuring the scene and delivering the sensations.

Mistress Salsa, Pro dominatrix

A submissive enjoys receiving and giving pleasure to the dominant and fulfils what the dominant enjoys doing.

You also get a switch. They do both and depending on the mood, they can be submissive or dominant.

Blaxmythos says as a sub, he willing relinquish his power or control over any situation.

The mistress gives instructions, and I obey. She says jump I ask how high.

Blaxmythos, Sub

Salsa says there is a misconception that BDSM is dark and for usual and damaged people

Every person has a little bit of kink in them. Everybody has something they would like to try. It doesn't have to include pain.
