Batohi outlines plans to restore credibility to the NPA
Shamila Batohi has used a briefing introducing the head of the Investigative Directorate at the National Prosecuting Authority as an opportunity to lay out her plans to restore credibility to the NPA.
The national director of public prosecutions spoke of the challenges she faced when she first arrived at the organisation.

During the briefing, both Batohi and investigative directorate head Hermione Cronje spoke of the priority of cleaning up the security sector in order to restore public confidence.

On Friday the presidency announced that Cape Town advocate Hermione Cronje had been appointed to head up the new investigating directorate in the Office of the NDPP.
The unit was created to investigate fraud and corruption cases exposed by the various commissions of enquiry into state capture.
