'Ramaphosa has a stronger Cabinet now than when he took over last year'
Sunday Times columnist Peter Bruce says the only way a president can survive in the African National Congress is by consulting and making sure that people feel included. President Cyril Ramaphosa did that when he appointed his Cabinet.
Nickolaus Bauer on the Xolani Gwala Show chats to Bruce about Ramaphosa's Cabinet.
Former presidents Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma didn't do that and they both paid the price for that. I guess what Ramaphosa is trying to do is survive.Peter Bruce, Columnist - Sunday Times
Ramaphosa has been able to survive by making some good choices, and some poor decisions, he notes.
The good ones are in prominent positions. I think Ramaphosa has a stronger Cabinet now than he had when he took over from Zuma last year. Pravin Gordhan and Tito Mboweni are back, and I believe Thoko Didiza is going to do a great job, Ronald Lamola is going to be excellent and will be a real help to the National Prosecuting Authority.Peter Bruce, Columnist - Sunday Times
Bruce says Aaron Motsoaledi at home affairs was a weak appointment as that is a vital ministry.
