'Ford has been paying Exponent R1.6 billion to cover up various cases'

The Cape High Court inquest into the death of Reshall Jimmy, who died when his Ford Kuga allegedly burst into flames in Wilderness in December 2015, continues on Monday.

His sister Renisha Jimmy provides an update on the court proceedings.

She says the way forward is unclear Ford has intimated it would like to stop the proceedings.

US expert John Loud is expected to continue giving evidence.

Loud is an American scientist that Ford brought and he is meant to have 20 years experience behind him.

He is the guy who came up with the story that Reshall was simply supposed to open the door and walk out.

Other victims who were sitting in that court were cringing with me saying that when they were trapped in their cars they also couldn't get their seatbelts out. They had to get help from officers on the roads.

Renisha says while digging into Loud she found that he is working for a company called Exponent Incorporated.

She says Ford has been using this company for years to help in similar cases.

Ford has been paying Exponent R1.6 billion to cover up various cases for them to be found not guilty.
