Donations for Nkosikho Mbele pass half-a-million rand mark

Donations are still pouring in for petrol attendant Nkosikho Mbele.

The Backabuddy campaign has officially passed the R500,000 mark.

The 28-year-old petrol attendant inspired many South Africans when he paid R100 out of his pocket to top up the tank of a motorist who stopped for fuel but had forgotten her bank card.

The story has gained more traction with giant company Shell pledging to donate R500,000 to a charity of Mbele's choice.
