From armed robber to self-defence advisor

David Morenne is a convicted armed robber who spent seven years behind bars for his crime.

Later this month he'll be addressing women and girls at a self-defence workshop being held in Cape Town.

In the years since he came out of jail, David has turned his life around, becoming an author (Guilty as Charged-a danger to society), pastor and motivational speaker.

He joined Cape Talk's Pippa Hudson to talk how he turned his back on a life of crime and the forthcoming workshop on June 22.

I always say there is no excuse for wrongdoing. I think it was a matter of peer pressure, the wrong company.

David Morenne, Author and motivational speaker

I am now trying to give back to the same community that I wronged.

David Morenne, Author and motivational speaker
