Alleged serial rapist killed in Alexandra

A group of Alexandra residents have defended a case of mob justice in the area, accusing police of not doing their job.

A man was set alight on Monday night when he was allegedly caught trying to commit a crime.

The man is alleged to be a serial rapist.

Eyewitness News reporter Edwin Ntshidi says a video of the mob attack has been circulated.

The community is saying that this is the man who has been raping women.

I spoke to a shop owner adjacent to where the incident happened who said he had to close his shop because he was scared that people will attack his shop.

They are saying that they are tired because police are not doing their job. One of the residents told me about an incident where he was attacked in his house and the police only came two hours later.
