African National Congress Youth League's (ANCYL's) zone 16 leader in the greater Johannesburg region Stanley Letsoalo says the disbandment of the league's national executive committee and provincial structures should allow for a 'revival' of the league.
Letsoalo is part of a group of disgruntled members who are calling for the league structures to be dissolved.
The group from across provinces called the 'Revive ANCYL Movement' says it is tired of having elder leaders in the movement who 'decide the fate of the organisation.'
The ANC youth league has been absent in quite a number of issues that have been affecting young people in the country in general and this has put us in an awkward position where we have seen numbers of young people deciding not to participate in the direction our country is going or finding themselves in opposition parties.— Stanley Letsoalo, Zone 16 leader in the greater Johannesburg region - ANCYL
The very same militant and radical education seems to be mum and not visible in society.— Stanley Letsoalo, Zone 16 leader in the greater Johannesburg region - ANCYL
The autonomy of the ANC youth league has been taken away from the structure itself.
