Uber takes to the skies with Uber Air and Uber Copter

Uber on Tuesday announced Melbourne (Australia) as the first non-US city (after Los Angeles and Dallas) in which it will launch Uber Air.

It aims to start test flights in 2020 with full commercial operations in 2023.

Uber Air’s eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) flying taxis are specifically designed for short trips.

Uber Copter – the first manifestation of Uber Air – begins operating in New York City next month.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Stuff magazine’s Toby Shapshak, who wrote about Uber Air on Tuesday.
