Save a life this Friday - give blood on #WorldBloodDonorDay

Did you know that of the 6-million people living in the Western Cape, about 75% will need blood or blood products in their lifetime?

However, only 1.5% of that population are blood donors.

As a result, the Western Cape Blood Service is calling on those who are able, to give blood on Friday 14 June - World Blood Donor Day.

Michelle Vermeulen at the Western Cape Blood Service says you can give blood every 56 days - or two months.

We encourage people to donate four times a year.

Michelle Vermeulen, Corporate Public Relations Officer - Western Cape Blood Service
