Furry Ice Age wolf head found in Siberian permafrost, now on exhibition in Tokyo

A severed head of an Ice Age wolf was found on the summer of 2018 in the Abyisky district in the north of Yakutia in Siberia.

It is 40cm long, nearly twice the size of the modern grey wolf.

The head still has fur, fangs, a tongue and even an intact brain providing much new information for scientists to research the ancient species.

The specimen has recently been revealed in an exhibition in Tokyo.
