President Cyril Ramaphosa's new dawn is more like old Vaseline, says Eusebius

The African National Congress (ANC) announced the names of members it wants to be committee chairs in Parliament.

Opposition members and political spectators have reacted with disappointment, saying the ANC is not serious about fighting corruption.

Among them are Bongani Bongo, Mosebenzi Zwane, Faith Muthambi and former North West premier Supra Mahumapelo.

President Cyril Ramaphosa on Thursday will deliver his first State of the Nation Address.

Eusebius McKaiser weighs in on the committee chairs and says it is scary.

McKaiser says if Ramaphosa does not have the right men and women in charge of these committees, the work of Parliament as an institution is undermined.

There are a number of ANC MPs that are now in charge of critically important part of Parliament's work and this for me is scary.
