Before he could narrow down his interests, National Stokvel Association of South Africa CEO Mizi Mtshali dabbled in nearly 15 different projects - from music to fashion, all at the age of 21.
Between exploring his many talents Mtshali worked with the likes of South African hip-hop artist Stogie T and pursued beat making and also became one of the youngest editors of the popular Hype magazine.
Having had experience in TV production, marketing, advertising, journalism and more, Mtshali says all the different skills he has gathered over the years have become very relevant in his current role.

The National Stokvel Association is central to a constituency and, naturally, I was attracted to what is this thing called a stokvel? The reason why people come together as stokvels is because they have been excluded from the system or economy. There is no access to finance and access to financial services so an alternative financial system has been created and adopted by people. Right now 11-million people in South Africa are part of stokvels.— Mizi Mtshali, CEO - National Stokvel Association of South Africa
