Bheki Cele meets with CPF leaders from gang-ridden Cape Flats communities
Police minister Bheki Cele on Monday met with members of the Western Cape's community policing forum (CPF) board.
On Friday the minister said the crime situation in the Western Cape was not bad enough to warrant the deployment of the army.
This past weekend three men were killed in shootings in Bonteheuwel, while the Lenteguer CPF said that there were three murders in the Eastridge area on Sunday night.
Lucinda Evans is chair of the Mitchells Plain CPF.
She says as a cluster, they outlined their demands to the minister in terms of resources but says that they do not want that to come at the expense of other areas plagued by similar troubles.
