Private security should not be taken for granted, says Bheki Cele

Police Minister Bheki Cele has called for a better relationship to be fostered between communities and private security.

Cele was addressing the Private Security Indaba in Kempton Park on Tuesday.

Role players in the private security industry have gathered there to come up with ways of addressing challenges facing the sector.

Eyewitness News reporter Thando Khubeka has more.

He just thinks that there should be a better relationship between communities and private securities. He says as law-enforcement agencies are not regarded as serious as the police. He says private guards should not be less regarded and right now they are taken for granted
