Case against four former Bosasa executives, including Agrizzi, postponed

The case against four former Bosasa executives, including Angelo Agrizzi, and their co-accused has been postponed to 24 October in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria.

The group faces money-laundering, corruption and fraud charges.

The case is related to the alleged tender corruption at the Department of Correctional Services.

To discuss the postponement, Clement Manyathela on the Xolani Gwala Show chats to National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwana.

We can confirm that the matter has been postponed, and the postponement is to allow the state to disclose the contents of the docket to the defence team so that they can start preparing their case.

Phindi Mjonondwana, Spokesperson - NPA

When probed as to whether the NPA was confident that its case was strong, Mjonondwana had this to say:

The only platform to determine the strength of any case is a court of law. What we do as the NPA where we see that there are prospects of a successful prosecution, then we enrol such a matter and allow the court process to unfold and the presiding officer to take a decision. It is not for us as the state to say that we have a strong case, the court will make a pronouncement.
