Former PIC head Dan Matjila takes the stand at inquiry

Former Public Investment Corporation (PIC) head Dan Matjila took to the stand at the commission of inquiry into the Public Investment Corporation on Monday morning.

The inquiry has entered its seventh month.

Matjila resigned in November last year amid allegations of corruption and nepotism.

Eyewitness News reporter Kgomotso Modise has more on Monday's proceedings. She says Matjila has yet to respond to allegations levelled against him.

He really just started with background, explaining generically about policies and the way things work. He has also given some insight during his time - what his role was and what should have been done.

We know media reports have already leaked his statements, so we are expecting to shed light into some of the allegations that we have seen published.
