'Skollie' author John W Fredericks passes away at 73

Tributes have been pouring in for Cape Flats writer John W Fredericks, who has died at the age of 73.

His family confirmed he passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday.

Fredericks memoir 'Skollie' was adapted into the award-winning motion picture 'Noem My Skollie' and details his formative years growing up in Cape Town.

He joined CapeTalk's Pippa Hudson in studio in 2017 following the publication of his memoir.
