Citizens believe government is not doing enough about corruption - Survey

The tenth edition of the Global Corruption Barometer (GCB) Africa has revealed that 70% of South Africans believe that government is not doing enough to tackle corruption.

The survey also revealed that 64% of those surveyed think that corruption levels increased during the past 12 months.

Clement Manyathela speaks to Corruption Watch executive director David Lewis on the survey.

In South Africa, 64% of the South African survey believed that corruption was getting worse.

The survey was done between July and September last year, so it would reflect the period of 2018 and late 2017. South Africans don't think the government s doing enough to tackle corruption.

If I were to interpret that result, I think people are saying until we see prosecutions and convictions we are not going to be convinced that the government is doing enough.
