Chaos erupted in Durban on Thursday when suspended eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede's supporters clashed with police.
In the commotion, eNCA journalist Siphamandla Goge was manhandled by police and IOL reporter Sihle Mavuso was arrested.
Supporters are demanding the reinstatement of Gumede, whose special leave has been extended pending her corruption charges.
Righ2Know communications organiser Lazola Kati condemned the police actions.
It is harassment and in fact, a case should be opened against the police at this point because they can't be treating anyone who is not breaking the law like that.— Lazola Kati, Communications organiser - R2K
