More than a week since the City of Ekurhuleni launched its new e-Siyakhokha website, a number of residents have complained about having difficulties re-registering.
The service payment website has been upgraded and changed from www.e-Siyakhokha.co.za to www.siyakhokha.ekurhuleni.gov.za, which is why customers on the old website were required to re-register.
Moloko Monyepao, divisional head for projects and architecture in Ekurhuleni on the Siyakhoka website, explains that new features are gradually being introduced to the site.
Previously it was owned by an external service provider, now we are implementing our own system as a city to ensure that the data is sitting with the city.— Moloko Monyepao, Divisional head for projects and architecture - Ekurhuleni
He says they have resolved most of the issues.
We have communicated via print media, radio, to explain the process of registration on the system but have seen users that are not following the process to a tee. Yes there were some glitches from our side, we have managed to remove those things.— Moloko Monyepao, Divisional head for projects and architecture - Ekurhuleni
Residents have been advised to contact the city's call centre on 0119995102 if they experience further problems.
