[LISTEN] 'They shot him in the head,' caller describes seeing teen gunned down

A Mitchells Plain resident called the John Maytham Show on CapeTalk on Friday afternoon to describe her horror at having just seen a teenage boy shot dead metres from her home.

Two guys jumped out with balaclavas on...they shot him in the head, the shoulders...in the back.

He was about 16 years old...he fell in front of my house and then dropped dead in front of the church.

Madoeneeya says she heard a succession of ten, loud shots - and that there were small children playing in the area at the time.

They could have shot them as well...they saw everything

On Thursday evening Police Minister Bheki Cele announced that the South African Police Service and South African National Defence Force members would be deployed in crime-riddled communities in Cape Town.
