Zuma's appearance at the Zondo commission is important for democracy - analyst

Political analyst Thokozani Chilenga-Butao says former president Jacob Zuma's appearance at the state capture commission of inquiry is important for democracy.

Speaking to Clement Manyathela on the Xolani Gwala show, Chilenga-Butao says the decision by Zuma to testify at the commission of inquiry will have long term positive effects for democracy.

The former president is responding to his alleged involvement in state capture after being publicly implicated by witnesses.

We can't take this for granted, it is a huge shift and I think it is a positive one.
