[WATCH] Azania in conversation with football star Michael Essien

Budweiser has announced a multi-year sponsorship with the English Premier League and the Spanish La Liga that will kick off the 2019/20 season.

The focus of this sponsorship is to bring fans in more than 20 countries across five continents closer to their international football heroes through a series of unique fan-engagement programmes.

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Michael Essien is in South Africa as an ambassador for the new project.

He took some time out to speak to Azania Mosaka.

Most of my friends keep asking me when I am going to retire, some of them keep telling me if you can still play, play as long as you can.

Michael Essien, Former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder

I am happy to be the ambassador. I wake up as a king thanks to Budweiser.
