Ithuba finally finds R23m jackpot winner

The national lottery operator Ithuba says a R23.774m win has been claimed after a search for the ticketholder was reported this week.

The ticket was bought at a Shell garage in Centurion on 19 September last year and was set to expire on the same day this year.

Ithuba head of corporate relations Busisiwe Msizi says the ticket was among a batch of tickets that the winner hadn't checked.

He is a regular player and when he heard the news about this particular ticket that was about to expire which was bought at that Shell garage in Amberfield Centurion, he realised that this is actually the spot where he always plays the lottery so he immediately rushed home to check his tickets.
