Gordahn responded to criticism of an earlier caller, Chris Logan, a portfolio manager at Opportune Investments.

Logan lamented the skyrocketing average cost per employee at Eskom (up 17.6% to R713 597) and the fact that it produces 5% less electricity today than it did in 2007, yet it has 43% (13 991) more employees.

He made several other assertions which Gordhan felt compelled to dispute on-air.
