Civic group Gatvol Capetonians embarked on a protest on Thursday for better housing.
The barricaded major roads and intersections in the City affecting Voortrekker Road, Kensington and in the Bo-Kaap.
The spokesperson for Gatvol Capetonians Fadiel Adams tells Africa Melanie that the turnout was not that impressive.
It wasn't as successful as we had hoped it would be but we are reasonably happy.

Thirteen communities had pledged their support, eight communities came out.

Adams says he will not attend a meeting with Western Cape Human Settlements MEC Teruis Simmers because it will bear no fruit.
I will not attend any meetings that I know to be a waste of time. I know what the outcome is going to be. Lots of smiles, good coffee, very little effort.
