The African National Congress (ANC) national executive committee (NEC) has decided that the Gauteng government must have 60-40 gender representation.

Which male MEC will Gauteng Premier David Makhura fire?

At the moment the province is led by Makhura and 10 MECs, five men and women.

We agreed that where a male will be a premier, there must be six females who are going to be MECs to complement for the loss of not having a woman as a premier.
