Who will ANC Gauteng axe as pressure mounts for 60-40 representation?

The African National Congress (ANC) national executive committee (NEC) has decided that the Gauteng government must have 60-40 gender representation.

Which male MEC will Gauteng Premier David Makhura fire?

At the moment the province is led by Makhura and 10 MECs, five men and women.

Clement Manyathela on The Xolani Gwala Show speaks to ANC acting spokesperson Dakota Legoete about the ultimatum.

We agreed that where a male will be a premier, there must be six females who are going to be MECs to complement for the loss of not having a woman as a premier.

Dakota Legoete, Acting spokesperson - ANC

There is no if or but for Gauteng, they must comply with the NEC decision.
