'Krugersdorp killers' sentenced to life in prison

The trio known as the 'Krugersdorp Killers' has been sentenced to life in prison.

Cecilia Steyn, Zack Valentine, and Marcel Steyn were part of the Electus Per Deus group which means "chosen by God".

In June, they were convicted on 32 counts including murder, fraud, and intimidation relating to crimes in and around Krugersdorp between 2012 and 2016.

The trio murdered eleven people including Valentine's wife Mikeila.

Eyewitness News reporter Kgomotso Modise was in court for sentencing on Monday.

Their sentences range from eight, fourteen and about eleven years in prison. However, those sentences do run concurrently so it will be a single life sentence.
